Soap Box

Is it my eyes or have they made the ingredients list on detergent and laundry soap containers smaller?  It makes it hard to avoid the ones with the allergens in them.  Of course if a huge waft of sneeze making fragrance launches into my nostrils as soon as I pick the container up, that gives a big allergenic clue.

Dust mites

Creepy crawly allergenic micro beasts!  Anyway according to my allergist they do not do well with sunlight so the current idea is to strip off the blankets, open the curtains and let the sun shine in.

New adventures in flour

I got a very nice electric mill from a thrift store so now I can make my own flour!!!  It weighs a ton and has stone grinding surfaces.  I will be testing it out on my screened in porch (just in case a lot of dust flys around)  It was a bargain at $20.  Some of the flour I will try:  rice flour, corn flour, tapioca flour.  Fun!!!

The eat anything I am not allergic to diet

From time to time someone tries to convince me to become a vegetarian.  Since meat is one of the sets of foods I am not yet allergic to, I plan to continue my current plan of eating a healthy variety of whatever I am not allergic to.  Soy based products (many vegetarian delicacies) are out.  I went to a training and took my own lunch since the provided lunch could be hazardous to me.  Sure enough the provided lunch was heavy on the wheat (pasta salads, rolls, doughnuts for brunchers) and soy, and dairy.  I took some nice sliced roasted chicken, an avocado sprinkled with sunflower seeds, a tangelo, some veggie chips, and a snapple to drink.  I saw some of the other attendees looking jealously at my plate.  I carried the whole thing in a mini-ice chest in my car and popped out at lunch time to bring it in.

hypoallergenic Painless antiinflammatories

Now that I am trying to avoid getting a 'big head' from ibuprofen it has gotten interesting dealing with swelling and irritation in my knee and bursitus shoulder.  I am reduced to trying ice and heat and olive oil.  So far I am not allergic to the olive oil.    Tylenol is a pain reducer but does nothing for swelling/inflammation.
